Majorca, or Mallorca, as the locals spell it, is the largest of the Balearic Islands, often called the jewels of the Mediterranean, and with such diverse resorts on Majorca, it’s not hard to see why it’s been a firm favourite with the British for years. Palma Nova and Magaluf, are a paradise for the younger crowd, with El Arenal, Can Pastilla and Playa de Palma not far behind. Santa Ponsa is popular with families but can also get quite busy in the height of the season. Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia are the main destinations for families looking for long sandy beaches, with the twin resorts of Calla Millor and Calla Boner also a good choice for families liking a good beach holiday. The resorts of S’illot, Cala D’or, Cala Sant Vincent and Sa Coma are also popular and less crowded.
